Association of Illustrators

 

The Association of Illustrators (AOI) provides professional advice and support to its members with an online gallery of work and a forum for discussion.

Children’s Books Ireland
Children's Books Ireland (CBI) is the national children's book organization of Ireland. Membership includes copies of Inis magazine and member rate for the CBI annual conference. ** This is one of the best resources for writers and illustrators of children's books. **

Children’s Illustrators
This is a fast method of sourcing children's illustrators online.

Children’s Laureate na nÓg
The laureateship is currently held by author Eoin Colfer. Eoin is the third person to be awarded this unique honour and will hold the title for a period of two years. Previous laureates include Siobhan Parkinson and Niamh Sharkey.

Drawn
Drawn is a collaborative weblog for illustrators, artists, cartoonists, and anyone who likes to draw. Visit it for a daily dose of links and creative inspiration.

European Illustrators Forum
European-based illustrators can go to the EIF for legal advice. EIF is a conglomerate of European guilds/professional associations for illustrators, graphic designers, etc. The Dutch professional organisation for illustrators and graphic designers (BNO) is a member, but also Spanish associations like the AGPI and the Euskal Erudigileak are members. Those individual associations offer a myriad of services to their members, like legal assistance and advice.
Also good to know for France, Ireland, Germany+Austria and UK illustrator members as their respective illustrator associations are also member of the EIF.

Illustrators Ireland
The Illustrators’ Guild of Ireland is a non-profit organisation established to support the development of illustration in Ireland.

Inis magazine
CBI’s magazine is available online and updated regularly as well as in print format. For both writers and illustrators, it contains lots of feature articles and other info about writing and illustrating books for children and about the children’s literature industry in Ireland and worldwide.

London Art College
For eighty years the London Art College has run successful Distance Learning Art Courses.
